Packaging Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Packaging Design Engineer with specialized expertise in print production to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the visual appeal, accuracy, and production quality of our product packaging. You will be responsible for translating 2D design concepts into print-ready files, optimizing designs for various printing processes, and collaborating closely with printing vendors to achieve exceptional results.

# Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with packaging designers and project engineers to understand design intent, technical specifications, and packaging requirements.

• Analyze 2D design concepts and provide expert recommendations on print feasibility, material selection, and finishing options.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of various printing processes (offset, digital, flexographic, etc.) and their capabilities.

• Optimize packaging designs for specific printing processes, ensuring color accuracy, image resolution, and proper file preparation.

• Produce print-ready files in various formats (e.g., AI, PDF, EPS) with meticulous attention to detail and technical accuracy.

• Collaborate with printing vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and manage production timelines.

• Conduct press checks and quality control inspections to ensure that printed materials meet our high standards.

• Troubleshoot printing issues and collaborate with vendors to find solutions.

• Stay informed about industry advancements in printing technologies, materials, and sustainable practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in print production and prepress operations, with a strong understanding of printing processes and techniques.

• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and prepress software.

• In-depth knowledge of printing materials, substrates, inks, and finishing options.

• Excellent color management skills and understanding of color spaces and profiles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address print-related challenges.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to effectively interact with designers, engineers, and vendors.

• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality printed materials.
